Electrical Engineer

Platinum Outsourcing Logistics E.A limited invites qualified, highly motivated candidates to apply for the position of Electrical Engineer.

Job Responsibilities Description

Major / Primary Responsibilities

1. Work with data center HLD/LLD/Shop-drawing, including :
2. Technical proposal;
3. Baseline / Concept scheme drawings and schedules;
4. Electrical load calculation and main equipment specification;
5. Bassline bill of quantities (BoQ); Concept reports;
6. Responsibility matrix;
7. All documentation required to compile high level project costs and in order to advise final design brief for completion by relevant country’s local consultants.
8. Design experience, Capacity to do the LLD, BoQ;
9. Professional with electrical related materials, specifications, cost.
10. Provide support for: Project management, including sub-contractor selection & management, supply chain, procurement, process management and acceptance.
11. Lead the electrical work implement onsite, manage the relationship with customer and third party consultant or supervision;
12. Finalize the work SOP(standard of procedure ) and onsite check subcontractor installation quality;
13. Coordinate different team
14. Manage the project implement plan and catch up if any delay

Qualifications / Experience

1. Degree in Engineering (Electrical) non-negotiable.
2. Professional registration preferred.
3. Working in local consultant company is prefer, design and supervision experience is mandatory.
4. Minimum 5 year’s electrical implement experience, involving medium to large scale and complex projects (experience with data centre, mission critical and industrial projects preferred).
5. Minimum 3 large scale projects implement experience (electrical work response).
6. In-depth knowledge of electrical system for the construction of buildings, including:
7. Low voltage distribution
8. Medium voltage distribution (11-33 kV)
9. UPS, battery, rectifier, generator and diesel fuel systems
10. ELV systems design and integration, such as CCTV, access control, data networks and fire alarm / detection systems
11. General: Electrical load analysis, fault level calculations, cable / equipment section
12. Complex services co-ordination
13. Solar Energy System
14. Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards including Uptime Institute, TIA 942 and local standard as well as vendors and technologies as that relate to the Data Center facilities.
15. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and industry standard electrical modelling software.
16. Vendor and consultant management skills.
17. Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards across the Southern Africa region. International project and program experience.
18. Excellent communication skills capability, attention to detail, and high quality standards.
19. Ability to effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
20. Ability to manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously and good project management capability.
21. Ability to travel all in Kenya and east Africa regional.
