IFF Operator

Platinum Outsourcing & Logistics (E.A) Ltd invites applications from candidates who are suitably qualified and experienced with excellent credentials to fill the position of IFF OPERATOR based in Nairobi.

Job Purpose

To provide quality customer service and facilitate clearance of Clients cargo

Key Responsibilities

  1.Handle the day-to- day operational relationship with the Client

1. Receive orders from Clients (tariffs already validated through a quotation). In case of new business (new or existing client), a new quotation will be issued by Sales department in accordance with SLSM/ALSM/DILS.
2. Request for missing documentation and more detailed instructions if necessary from the Client.
3. Inform the Client of the file processing progress in real time (standard or specific report, according to quotation)
4. Prepare and submit shipment status reports to clients.

2. Manage the file processing.

1. Update the Client and the IFFOS on the file processing progress and update the monitoring software on the status of each file
2. Receive and open operation files on a daily basis.
3. Share shipment status with Clients on a daily basis.
4. Follow up on BONDS application and update on Bond status
5. Analyze clearance times and preparing shipment tracking updates
6. Prepare delivery plan to the site and follow up on delivery documents (POD, EIR)
7. Prepare files for Billing

3. Alert/Inform Management

1. Alert the Client in case of operational issues (potential or real) and escalate to the IFFS the issues that you are unable to handle.

Qualifications

1. Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding or Relevant Training from KESRA
2. Knowledge of Single Customs Territory.
