Platinum Outsourcing Logistics E.A limited invites qualified, highly motivated candidates to apply for the position of Mechanical Service Delivery Engineer.


Job Responsibilities Description


Major / Primary Responsibilities

  1. REVIEW ALL HLD, including :
  2. technical proposal;
  3. Baseline / Concept scheme drawings and schedules;
  4. Bassline bill of quantities (BoQ); Concept reports;
  5. responsibility matrix
  6. All documentation required to compile high level project costs and in order to advise final design brief for completion by relevant country’s local consultants.
  7. Follow the LLD and develop and revert the BoQ.
  8. Understand the LLD, BoQ and responsibility matrix well and clarify to subcontractors;
  9. Provide support for: Project management, including sub-contractor selection & management, supply chain, procurement, process management and acceptance.
  10. Lead the mechanical work implement onsite, manage the relationship with customer and third party consultant or supervision;
  11. Finalize the mechanical work SOP(standard of procedure ) and onsite check subcontractor installation quality;
  12. Coordinate different team
  13. Manage the project implement plan and catch up if any delay

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) non-negotiable.
  2. Professional registration preferred.
  3. IT / ICT or any business related qualification will be an advantage.
  4. Minimum 5 year’s mechanical implement experience, involving medium to large scale and complex projects (experience with data centre, mission critical and industrial projects preferred).
  5. Minimum 2 large scale (no less than 1 megawatts) Data Center projects implement experience.
  6. In-depth knowledge of mechanical system for the construction of buildings, including:
  7. Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems integration such as:
  8. Chilled water systems
  9. DX systems
  10. AHU systems
  11. Ventilation systems
  12. Fire systems integration such as:
  13. Fire suppression systems
  14. Automatic fire alarm systems
  15. Fire water systems
  16. Fire foam systems
  17. Water leak detection systems
  18. Plumbing and Drainage systems integration such as:
  19. Internal plumbing systems
  20. Internal drainage systems
  21. General: Heat load calculations, pressure drop calculations, equipment selections etc.
  22. Complex services co-ordination
  23. Possess a strong awareness of current and emerging industry standards including Uptime Institute, TIA 942 and local standard as well as vendors and technologies as that relate to the Data Center facilities.
  24. Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Revit and industry standard mechanical modelling software.
  25. Working experience with other MEP engineering consultants.
  26. Vendor and consultant management skills.
  27. Ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
  28. Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards across the Southern Africa region. International project and program experience.
  29. Excellent communication skills capability, attention to detail, and high quality standards.
  30. Ability to effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
  31. Ability to manage multiple fast paced projects simultaneously and good project management capability.
  32. Ability to travel internationally.
