Batch Processing Operator

Platinum Outsourcing & Logistics (E.A) Ltd invites applications from candidates who are suitably qualified and experienced with excellent credentials to fill the position of batch processing operator based in Nairobi.

Job Description

• Accurately weigh, charge and handle raw materials and additives according to approved formulations.

Minimize material losses, wastage and process deviations while maximizing batch yield.

• The role is responsible for adherence to process parameters, minimizing material and process

operation losses, safe equipment operation, effective housekeeping, and accurate production records

to run, and recommend temporary or permanent corrective actions.

• Responsible for operating and controlling batch processing equipment and processes in accordance

with approved formulas, process parameters, quality, and safety standards

• Monitor and maintain required processing parameters to achieve production and quality targets.

• Monitor batch parameters during processing and report any abnormalities or deviations to the

supervisor.

• Carry out equipment start-up, operation, cleaning and basic checks to ensure reliable production.

• Maintain high standards of SHE, hygiene and 5S/housekeeping. Complete batch records, production

reports and process documentation accurately and on time.

• Conduct changeovers, troubleshooting and maintenance activities to minimize downtime.

• Ensure effective shift handovers and communication of production, quality and equipment issues.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving productivity, quality, yield and

cost efficiency.

Education / Qualifications

• Technical certificate/Diploma in processing, industrial Chemistry or related field is

an advantage

Experience

• 2+ years in oil processing, chemical processing, cosmetic processing, soap manufacturing or a related

FMCG environment.

• Experience operating vessels, filters, pumps and process equipment.

• Experience executing preventive maintenance plans, attending minor breakdowns and recording work

in log sheets/provided records.

• Working knowledge

Technical and Professional Skills

• Ability to read and interpret batch card requirements, manufacturing procedures and equipment

manuals.

• Basic knowledge in Process equipment operation

• Process parameters monitoring.

• Basic chemical/process understanding.

• Computer literacy for maintenance records, reports, raw material requests.
