Duties & Responsibilities
- Cutting, cleaning, and aligning metal parts before welding.
- Welding and joining metals as needed by use of welding processes MIG, TIG, arc, gas welding, etc.) to join metal parts.
- Setting up, adjusting, and maintaining welding machines and tools.
- Checking quality, strength, and accuracy of welds to meet standards.
- Fixing damaged metal parts or creating new structures.
- Wearing protective gear (PPE) and ensuring safe welding practices.
- Smoothing welded joints and preparing surfaces for painting or further processing.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints/drawings
- Report in writing discrepancies in condition that will require corrective, predictive or planned maintenance actions.
- Maintain record of daily and monthly welding consumables consumption to ensure that it adheres to budget.
Qualification And Requirements
- KCSE- Kenya certificate of secondary education, GTT I in Welding and Fabrication or Technical Certificate /Diploma/Higher Diploma –Welding
- 2-3 years’ Proven experience as a Welder.
- Equipment Management- Set up, operate and maintain welding equipment and tools.
- Safety Compliances- Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safety working environment.
